10/22/07 - Cavs lose series against Virginia Tech Virginia ended a dissapointing weekend winning just one of three games against Virginia Tech. The offense struggled in game one, only managing 1 run, a home run by Ryan Charles, in the 1-7 loss. Game two was the only bright spot for the cavaliers as they won 7-6 behind Todd Zivic's solid outing and first year Steve Hershey's timely hitting. The offense and defense struggled again in a third game to forget, losing 2-17. UVA hopes to get their bats going when JMU comes to town on November 4th. 10/14/07 - Cavs Split Series with VCU UVA won one and lost one in the Sunday doubleheader against VCU. Both games were close, as Virginia won the first in extra innings 6-5 and lost the second by one, 3-4. The offense started out well in the second game scoring three runs in the first, but were not able to add to the lead. 9/30/07 - Cavs Drop Two Against Maryland The Cavaliers lost both games in a double header to forget. The offense only mustered 2 runs in a 0-11 and a 2-12 loss. The pitching and defense were shaky in both games against a Maryland team that went to the NCBA world series last year. Virginia hopes to get back on track next weekend against in-conference oppenent Virginia Commonwealth. 9/23/07 - Cavs Take Two From Local Charlottesville Team Virginia opened its 2007 Fall season by winning both games in the double header against a local Charlottesville team at Albemarle High School. The final scores were 10-3 and 14-9. This was the first game for Virginia since adding 12 new players to the roster.
