Happy New Year!
Our biggest piece of news right now is that the website is back up and running! "Where did the website go?" you might ask. ITC sent me an email informing me that "In the 2007-2008 school year, all accounts on the current Student Council Server (SCS) will be transitioned to a new server platform. ...Our goal is to have the new server completely operationalized by the start of 2008." Unfortunately, this was not to be. From the StudCo website: "Due to unforeseen circumstances ITC has not been able to successfully complete the transition at this time." The good news is, the server has been put back online until further notice.
Practice times and dates for the new semester will be posted shortly.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I hope everyone is getting their costumes ready for Friday night!
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Almost all of the new fencers are on the mailing list, but there are some people who haven't emailed me. If I don't have your email, or you are having problems and think you're missing some email, please talk to me at practice or send me an email.
Also, I am trying to compile a fencing phone/contact list for everyone to use at tournaments, for hot dates, and anything else you might need to get ahold of another fencer for. If you are new to the team this semester, please see me at the next practice to get your information on my list. Thank you!
Lastly, all of the t-shirt entries are in, and the OFFICIAL VOTING EMAIL WILL BE OUT WITHIN THE NEXT DAY! You will have until MIDNIGHT on Tuesday, October 30th to vote, so please watch your email and respond as soon as possible. The winner will be announced at Wednesday's practice (10/31).
LASTLY, TEMPLE IS NEXT WEEKEND SO GET EXCITED!

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PRACTICES!
From our estimable president, Lance Murashige, "The Word" on our practice schedule:
Practices will be Monday, Wednesday, 8:30 - 10:30, and Fridays 8:30 - 9:45. (Work out sessions will be at 8) This schedule begins THIS FRIDAY,September 21, when we will meet at 8:30 in multi-purpose room 2. If you don't know where that is, ask somebody at the desk (its downstairs in Mem Gym). We will also hold some supplementary practices, as needed, on Sunday afternoons, time TBA. These supplementary practices are a completely new experiment for the VFC -- but we think that they may be just the thing we need to sharpen our competitive edge.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me.

First Day of Classes!
This is the first update of the new school year (and the new secretary)!
My apologies for the lack of information concerning this upcoming year of fencing; updating was way too long in the coming, and more information will be provided as soon as possible. From now on, updates will happen much more regularly, and as of now...
Current events and important dates:
Tomorrow, there will be a meeting of the executive committee at Morgan's house at 8 pm to discuss the upcoming year, the Student Activities Fair, and the upcoming informational meetings. The date of the first practice will be posted shortly, as well as the dates for the informational meeting.
Most importantly the Student Activities Fair, which was originally to be held this past Sunday, has been postponed to Saturday, September 1st from 3 to 7 pm. More information, including a sign-up sheet, will be sent around by email.
