Departmental Concerns
Honor system
- Inger Daniels (mathematics dept. rep) received a letter from a graduate student in her
department regarding the honor system. The grad prosecuted a student who had been
accused of cheating and admitted guilt, however the honor committee declined to
sentence the offender under the honor code's "seriousness" clause. The grad deems this
to be a serious weakness in the honor system at UVA.
Meeting adjourned 8:10pm
