Hello everyone,
I have just received additional news about the fall activities fair.
They have pushed the starting time from 8 to 9PM.
So again: The Fall activities fair is a once a year event where all the clubs can recruit newcomers. This is a great chance to get new people interested in our group! This year the fair is on the 26th from 9PM to Midnight (midnight has not been confirmed).
I will be there to man the station but any help we can get is greatly appreciated. For people who would like to help, setup begins at 7:30PM.
I already have a number of people who have volunteered to help me out so thanks to all of them. If you think you can make it or if you told me you could and you can't please contact me. Easiest way is via e-mail: altersoul@gmail.com or cjp8m@virginai.edu same dif.
I will send out an e mail about this to the student list.
Thanks for your help!
Charles
Edit: fair is on the 26th and not on the 28th. oops :P
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to Welcome everyone for a new exciting school year!
For anyone who might be new to the SCA or even just this Website, my name is Charles and I am this year's CIO of the Students for Creative Anachronism. I am really excited to get to spend another year with everyone and to do some exciting activities!
I realize I have some huge shoes to fill considering what a great job Kendra did last year. So if anyone has something they think I could do to make things better please tell me and I will be glad to help you on that.
So again Welcome back everyone and please bear with me :)
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to announce that Wednesday, at Handcrafters, I talked with Wayne (the best bealt and pouch maker of the kingdom at least!). I talked to him about possibly having a belt making workshop during a handcrafters. So we talked about doing it Wednesday May 9th. This is still to be worked out but as it stands that seems to be the idea. He said that we were so scrawny that it should be any trouble at all :P.
With regards to costs I have yet to talk to him about it but I invite everyone to come to handcrafters anyway! even if we dont have the workshop that day.
Just wanted to give a headsup and hopefully Matt will make himself a belt so that he may return Wayne's favored belt back to him :).
Sunday was yet another 4th Sunday of the month.
These events are hosted by Sir Corby and Theora (spelled right?) Anyhow we had a bunch of people from the SCA get together for food, thrown weapons, archery practice, and of course project continuation. These Sundays are a great way to meet people and have a bunch of great people help you with some of your more complicated projects!
I was quite busy this Sunday! I learned for the first time how to use a Bow and Arrow (Courtesy of John, Charles (not me), and Buba). I have the bruises to prove it! I also had a chance to use Buba's Crossbow. That was a blast. had so much fun I forgot to eat... ME! not eating! oh well. I then got some great help to finish some pants that I am making, and finished in the evening by cutting out a large part of leather to make some protective leg gear.
All in all: a busy yet awesome day ^^.
EDIT: spelling.
So Thursday looks like partly cloudy with highs of 72 and lows of 45... Dells it is?
Hey! I hope to be more active on the Isenfir Website.
It is almost 6 PM and we re almost done with our meeting.
