Mission Statement

Our tutoring program works with children and young adults in Charlottesville and Albemarle County Public Schools to assist them in improving their academic work. Usually, the primary emphasis is on basic reading and math skills; however, many students receive help in other subjects, such as foreign languages, science, history, and English as a Second Language

Unique opportunities in the Tutoring Program include working with students with special needs (CHS Special Needs) and helping students at community after-school programs (Focused).

Our principle in the Tutoring Program is that a tutor is not only an instructor, but a friend who is truly interested in his or her student's efforts.
