OYFA's November General Meeting is this THURSDAY, 11/05 in PHYSICS 203. The meeting will be hosted by the wonderful councils of FIND & CULTURE!

ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, PRE-REGISTRATION FOR FIND DIALOGUE 2009 WILL OFFICIALLY CLOSE. Don't be a suckaa and lose the chance of a lifetime for a great weekend of fun, culture, enlightenment, and meeting people from up and down the East Coast ..AND it's only an hour away! You won't want to miss this.

Worried that you won't have a buddy by your side? ..INVITE FRIENDS ! The more the merrier, and you don't have to be Filipino (nor know much about Filipino culture, for that matter) to go!!!

It's that time of year - the time for BARRIO PLANNING! Barrio Planning meetings will start up in the next few weeks, so get hype for the BEST BARRIO EVER!

For those of you who don't know, Barrio Planning meetings are weekly meetings that we'll be holding in order to plan for OYFA's annual culture showcase BARRIO FIESTA! If you're a first year, it's a great way to get involved with OYFA and learn more about the great, life-enriching experience that is BARRIO. Dear Friends and Family,

A few things:

1) Are you interested in getting involved in OYFA and want to take part in creating the best events that UVA has to offer? Are you creative, organized, and desire to network with other organizations and people? Do you like to dance? Do you like event names such as "Cardiac Arrest" or "Controlled Chaos"? Do you like jumping dolphins and green tea?

If you answered yes to one or more of the above, then we want and need you to join OYFA's Social Sub-Committee. You will take part in planning and organizing events, and will serve a very important leadership role on OYFA Council. You will join the Social team and be able to collaborate with the best people at the University of Virginia. You will receive the best training and will undoubtedly learn life long skills that can be applied to the world beyond OYFA and UVA.

2) Also, we need two individuals to sign up for a door shift at Formal! OYFA is working the 10:00PM - 10:40PM shift, so please consider sacrificing a small amount of your time to help out. This is the first shift, so the rest of the night is yours! Also, we need one or two cars to provide rides for people after Formal. If we don't fulfill all of these requirements, OYFA will suffer profit penalties! Please please please help out and make this night run smoothly for everyone! We would truly appreciate it.

3) Make sure you go to Formal from 10:00PM - 2:00AM on Saturday, November 14th at the Paramount Theater! Pre-sale tickets will go on sale at Newcomb and OHill next week-- $15 per individual, $25 per couple.

4) Join us for IHOP after the General Meeting this Thursday! Come enjoy a late night dinner with your favorite people for 1/2 off the regular price! Just make sure that you bring cash and your student ID to the meeting since we'll be leaving right when it ends! Upperclassmen, please fill up your cars with underclassmen who need rides!

2. What is one item that you can't survive your day without and why?

** My planner. I would be lost.

3. If you had a week where all your classes were cancelled and you had no work to do at all. What would you be doing?

** Hmm. I would sleep all day. All day. And then I would order Yuan Ho delivery (even though it's pretty embarrassing to have Yuan Ho deliver to my apartment because it's so close . . . ) and sleep some more. Mmmmhmm.
