Why did you want the position you currently hold?
  • I wanted to do PR because I wanted OYFA to be more visible in the UVA community, outside of the APA community, that way, we could attract more people to our events.
If you could have any other position in OYFA at this very moment, what would it be and why?
  • Student Advisor, so I could hold Intercourse with OYFA :]
What does it means to you to be Filipino?
  • Eating a crap ton at dinner & then your mom/aunt/whoever telling you that you're too skinny & need to eat more; Filipino parties with FOOD, magic mic, & aunties with their chismis [I once heard an auntie say, "Chismis... it's what we live for." TRUE STORY], always showing up late, and so much more...
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
  1. Money, to pay off student loans
  2. A job secured for after college
  3. An awesome singing voice
Despite what it seems like, I really don't hate my co-chair... he's the best co-chair ever :)

Why did you want the position you currently hold?
  • I ran for this position to vamp up the visual aspect of PR with the skills I've honed as an A-schooler. There's nothing more rewarding than contributing to my fellow OYFAns!
If you could have any other position in OYFA at this very moment, what would it be and why?
  • Honestly, if I had all the time in the world, I think being a Culture chair would be a lot of fun.
What does it means to you to be Filipino?
  • Being Filipino = the F-words... Family and Food. What more could you ask for?
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
  1. 30 hr-day. You have no idea how many times I've wished for this to happen
  2. A yacht, so I can travel the world and live on the ocean, and most importantly to hold a star-gazing party in the middle of the Pacific.
  3. Dinosaurs. Need I say more?
The powers and duties of the Public Relations Committee include but are not limited to:
A. To serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the University of Virginia community.
B. To publicize and inform the community about all the organization’s activities through whatever means necessary (i.e. information distribution, events, advertising, newspapers).
C. To publish two newsletters, one in the fall and one for Barrio Fiesta.
D. To work with the Corresponding Secretary to promote public relations with other Asian and non-Asian organizations.
E. To communicate with newspapers, yearbooks, and other literary/media networks at the University of Virginia.
F. To work with the Historian in maintaining accurate records of events and activities in the media, and to add newspaper articles to the OYFA scrapbook.
G. To make business cards for officers.
H. To update the presiding officer on the progress of the committee.
